The old brick oven has already been repaired; the workspace has been opened up, the windows, walls, doorways and floors are all receiving new treatment. The Lanci bakery has its major demo work done and is currently undergoing heavy cosmetic work. Larry Lanci has plans for many small modernizations, while keeping the traditional feel of the old bakery. I won’t spout out a long list here, but equipment like refrigerated cooling racks will improve efficiency and eventual updates like automatic doors for the storefront are planned. Rob and Larry have put in a lot of time and it won’t be long before the opening. Yes, it looks like there will be an opening celebration, with possible entertainment besides the Famous Lanci Brothers, but an appearance by the Phanatic has yet to be confirmed.
